Five Award-Winning Artists Have Answered ‘The Call' for the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show

Pepsi, the NFL, and Roc Nation have created one of the best lineups of music history. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar will perform at the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, on Sunday, February 13, 2022. All five artists star in the dramatic new trailer promoting the show, aptly titled The Call.
Pepsi partnered with revered filmmaker F. Gary Gray – the mastermind behind Straight Outta Compton, Friday, and The Fate of the Furious – on The Call. While the epic trailer is scored by Emmy-nominated music director and Grammy award-winning writer Adam Blackstone, who assembled the iconic tracks "Rap God," "The Next Episode," "Family Affair," "HUMBLE.," "Still D.R.E.," and "California Love."
"Each time I collaborate with Dre, it seems to mark an important moment in entertainment history, from projects like Friday, Set It Off, Straight Outta Compton, to now the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show," shared F. The thrilling trailer is fast-paced and has the feel of a high-octane movie. The lens moves quickly between Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, highlighting their different creative journeys and influences. Each artist then gets the call from their friend and collaborator, Dr. Dre, to come to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood for the halftime show.
"The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career," said Dr. Dre in a press statement. "I'm grateful to JAY-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment."
This year’s eagerly anticipated showcase marks the first time these five multi-award-winning (collectively, they’ve been awarded 43 Grammys and created 22 No. 1 Billboard albums) artists will perform together on one stage. Moreover, this is also of particular significance for the greater Los Angeles community as they host the Super Bowl for the first time in nearly 30 years.
