Billie Eilish is set to make her debut as host of Saturday Night Live on Dec. 11, for which she will also serve as musical guest.
The 19-year-old pop star took to Instagram to indulge in her excitement.
“AHHHHHH!!! I’M HOSTING AND PERFORMING ON SNL!!! CRAAAAZY I COULD SCREAM,” she wrote in a post.
Eilish will celebrate her 20th birthday just a week later. It’s reminiscent of Taylor Swift’s double duty debut. Back in 2009, Swift was just shy of turning 20 when she charmed audiences with her “Monologue Song” and sang “You Belong With Me” and “Untouchable.”
Given Eilish’s immense creative talent and sense of humor (don’t you watch her Instagram stories?), we have no doubt the night will be a great success. We definitely can’t wait to see her bring to the Studio 8H stage any one of the songs from Happier Than Ever, her sophomore record that was released in July.
The December lineup rounds out with this year’s Sexiest Man Alive, Paul Rudd, who will find support from musical guest Charli XCX. It’s always a good time to enjoy the charisma of Rudd, but he actually will be hitting SNL during the release of his new Apple TV Plus series, The Shrink Next Door. The 10-episode miniseries started releasing episodes on Nov. 12.
Watching Rudd will be like coming home after a long day, which makes Charli XCX’s performance all the more exciting. Her fascinating pop weirdness will be a solid shakeup for the late night network show. The 29-year-old British artist is gearing up to release her fifth record, Crash, due out next year. To tide over fans, she recently put out singles “Good Ones” and “New Shapes,” which features Christine and the Queens and Caroline Polacheck.
