Roberta's Opens Its First West Coast Location in LA

Pizza lovers rejoice - the West Coast location of Roberta’s is now officially open at Platform in Culver City. The creation of Co-Owners Brandon Hoy and Chef Carlo Mirarchi, Bushwick-based Roberta’s has become an international culinary institution and helped pave the way for the borough’s thriving food scene. Known and loved for its wood-fired pizzas and creatively-composed seasonal menus, the Los Angeles location of Roberta’s will serve classic pizzas synonymous to the New York restaurant, as well as California-inspired composed plates and pies. The new West Coast location will also feature a juice bar-centric cocktail program, with fresh hand-pressed juices paired with small-batch spirits, and an exclusively all-natural wine list alongside locally-brewed craft beer. Designed by Hoy and Studio Jesse James, the restaurant’s interior features murals by Southern California-based artists as well as artistic homages to pizza.

“We’ve had our eye on Los Angeles for quite some time,” says Hoy. “A West Coast location of Roberta’s seemed like a natural progression for our brand. We are lucky to have found awesome partners in the Platform team and are excited to become a permanent part of the Los Angeles community.”

“We’ve been participating in, and cooking at events, in California for years – from dinners at Manresa with David Kinch to Twelve Days of Meadowood with Christopher Kostow and cooking with Jon and Vinny at Animal, among others,” says Chef Carlo Mirarchi. “Opening in Los Angeles felt like a natural next step. We’ve been overwhelmed by the incredibly warm welcome from the LA community – not to mention the amazing quality and quantity of the ingredients here.”

Since opening over a decade ago, Roberta’s has selectively expanded throughout New York, with two outposts in Manhattan’s Urbanspace markets, both of which exclusively serve the restaurant’s.
