Olivia Rodrigo is ending her year on a sweet note with the announcement of her first-ever tour in support of Sour.
“SOUR TOUR IS FINALLY HAPPENING!!!,” Rodrigo wrote on Instagram. She also noted that Gracie Abrams, Holly Humberstone and Baby Queen will serve as opening support, depending on the show.
The teen pop sensation is set to hit the United States, United Kingdom and Europe next year. Sour Tour will kick off on April 2, 2022 in San Francisco at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium and will then wrap on July 7 at London’s Eventim Apollo.
Before jetting across the pond for stops in Germany, Italy and France, among others, Rodrigo will grace Los Angeles on May 24 and May 25 at the Greek Theatre. Her other California shows include performances at San Diego’s The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park on May 18 and the Santa Barbara Bowl on May 21.
Tickets go on sale this week, and you’ll definitely want to be prepared given that Rodrigo has basically dominated 2021. Fans can register now on Ticketmaster until Dec. 7 at 11:59 p.m. PT to purchase tickets for North American tour dates, which then become available on Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. local time.
Sour Tour has been a long time coming. Rodrigo released the album way back in May and has had a stellar showing at all of this year’s award ceremonies, including, most recently, at the American Music Awards where she won New Artist of the Year. What’s more, it’s unlikely anyone has gone the last seven months without hearing a Sour track. From the aching melodrama of “Drivers License” to the earworm pop punk of “Good 4 U,” Sour saturated many Spotify playlists and pop radio.
Sour’s status as a powerhouse debut was certified by the Recording Academy’s November announcement of Grammy nominations. The 18-year-old earned a whopping seven nods, including for the ceremony’s top honors of Record of the Year and Song of the Year. She also pocketed nominations for best new artist, best pop solo performance, best pop vocal album and best music video.
