Nicole Kidman stars as a resort director in Nine Perfect Strangers.
Tranquillum is coming to Century City.
From Sept. 10 to 12, the Westfield Century City Mall will host a Nine Perfect Strangers pop-up. It will run from noon to 7 p.m. at the atrium.
The immersive event invites tourists and Angelenos to escape the hustle and bustle of the city by rejuvenating, reviving and reflecting in its mid-mall oasis. Inspired by the series’ focal retreat, visitors can participate in personalized astrology readings, crystal healing and giveaways from Smudge Wellness, an online boutique. You can even sip on a refreshing smoothie pop.
Wellness activities are intended for guests to focus and align their inner and outer selves. Start with an aura reading before heading to a healing specialist who promotes proper posture. Maintaining such alignment optimizes the body’s functioning and helps cope with stress and tension. Next, journey through the dome’s cascading greenery and floral fixtures before sitting down to write intentions that help manifest desires and ambitions. Finalize the experience with a digital astrology reading from Smudge Wellness’ resident astrologer, Cole Prots, and a moment of reflection and gratitude in a multi-mirrored space inspired by the show’s title treatment.
Fans of Nine Perfect Strangers are also welcome to just take in the reference to the show’s iconic dome and snap some Instagram-worthy photos in front of the lush greenery. What’s more, the event ensures COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place.
Nine Perfect Strangers is based on the book of the same name by Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty. It debuted on Hulu on Aug. 10 and releases new episodes every Wednesday until the season finale on Sept. 22.
The eight-episode limited series takes place at the Tranquillum House, a health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation for nine stressed city dwellers looking to get on a path of better living. Their 10-day retreat is led by resort director Masha (Nicole Kidman), a woman intent to reinvigorate her guests’ tired bodies and minds. Ultimately, these nine strangers have no idea what is about to hit them. With Kidman, it stars Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale, Regina Hall, Samara Weaving, Melvin Gregg, Asher Keddie, Grace Van Patten, Tiffany Boone and Manny Jacinto. The series was written by David E. Kelley, John Henry Butterwork and Samantha Strauss.
