When imaginative minds meet skilled hands, the results are pure magic.
The Haas Fox Salad Monster serving bowl, $1,250, is inspired by the landscape of Joshua Tree in the California desert.
Thomas Rom, who oversees dozens of blue-chip art collections worldwide, should take credit for masterminding one of the most whimsical art-meets-functionality alliances to date. It was Rom’s idea to fuse together luxury lifestyle brand L’Objet and celebrated artists the Haas Brothers, Simon and Nikolai Haas, which resulted in a 65-piece collection titled Wild Things. This fanciful contemplation on dinnerware celebrates both the artists’ playful POV and the brand’s commitment to high-quality utility and finish. The personality-oozing collab includes embroidered table runners, storage vessels and full dinnerware service. Wild Things is executed in the Haas Brothers’ signature textures, and, to round out the amusing encounter, it includes a new scent, Mojave Palm, available in a sculpted porcelain votive, a unicorn candle and as Japanese incense. $28 to $3,500, l-objet.com
