Snoop Dogg is a man of many talents. Esteemed artist, Martha Stewart’s best friend, amazing actor and most recently, philanthropist and teacher. Snoop Dogg has teamed up with The Levi’s Music Project to launch a program at the YMCA’s Youth Institute in his very own hometown of Long Beach, California. The program will restore their music studio, bring in new equipment, and host a hands-on masterclass in musical production and business taught by none other than Snoop himself, as well as the elite musicians and producers of 1500 Sound Academy, a new school dedicated to democratizing music education.
The Levi's Music Project is deeply committed to music education and uniquely pairs artists with their surrounding communities, as music education and support are in constant danger of cuts and defunding around the world. The launch of 1500 Sound Academy will allow the Grammy Award-winning founders of the academy to teach the lessons that they’ve learned throughout their careers to the next young generation—a truly beautiful thing.
More broadly, Levi’s as a company has always firmly been part of the music community. Levi’s has always been worn by music icons, artists and fans worldwide. Through the Levi’s Music Project, Levi’s continues to be in the center of music culture as an active collaborator and respected resource by creating community-based music programs around the world.
