Art appreciation: “Growing up with parents who were artists, I learned to appreciate art at a very young age. What's your buying strategy? “I am drawn to colors and shapes. I always bought for personal reasons until recently, when I met artist Connor Tingley. When I saw his first piece, besides falling madly in love with it, I knew it would be worth a small fortune one day. You can take that one to the bank!”
Biggest thrills: “I watched Exit Through the Gift Shop and saw Mr. Brainwash’s 12-foot-high ‘Tomato Spray.’ … It spoke to me and I told everyone in the room I would own that exact piece. They all laughed, but within six months it was in my great room. It totally anchors the space.”
What sealed the deal on your home? “I was convinced I could turn it into a gallery!”
Far-out features: “The severalhole championship golf course where you tee up over a canyon... and three pools.”
Who designed it? “I had hired a celebrity interior designer who was very busy, so I took over the entire job and spent the next three years learning interior design and basically living at the PDC.”
Most evocative of you: “My closet and master bath sparkle like diamonds! My Herbeau faucet is set with more than 1,000 crystals.”
