YouTube makeup artist Jeffree Star is letting go of his California mansion and moving to Wyoming to focus on his mental health. The influencer and entrepreneur has had a tough time this past year and a half and has made the decision to let go of his mansion in Hidden Hills, listing the expansive property for $20 million.
“I need to get away from California and its day-to-day atmosphere," Star announced in a 25-minute video posted to YouTube earlier this week. "I think I’ve gotten all I can out of the state."

The makeup influencer purchased the 20,000-square-foot home in December 2019 for $14.58 million. The French Normandy-style estate boasts seven bedrooms and an impressive 11-and-a-half bathrooms.
Upon entering the glorious abode, one is welcomed with a Cinderella staircase, beautiful, high-ceiling foyer and a well-lit stained glass roof window. The luxurious home is decorated with crushed velvet furniture, wide arched windows and glamorous, gold-detailed molding.
A wood paneled office gives the mansion a feel of professionalism and adds to its modernity. The kitchen features two islands adorned with Viking appliances and three wood-surface refrigerators. The dining room is circular, giving the space a more family-oriented and cozy vibe.
Star is fond of the three-story elevator, giving it the playful nickname “Willy Wonka glass elevator.” It takes guests to the starry-ceiling theater, an entertainment space embellished by crystal chandeliers with a bar, a Slurpee machine, a popcorn machine and three pinball machines.
On the same floor, there is a door covered with stainless steel grapes that leads to the wine cellar. Add to this a massive garage space that can park up to 16 cars, and you’ve got yourself a modern-day castle.
Perfect for housing a multitude of friends and family, the guest suite offers a separate kitchen, bedroom, balcony, office and walk-in closet.
Spanning 2.82 acres, this massive manse is certainly a gem, even among the luxurious Hidden Hills neighborhood. The primary suite is an apartment in itself, while the property includes other amenities, from a gym and massage room, to a fabulous pool.
Star’s short time in the home has not been the happiest. The influencer cites the loss of his two dogs and a difficult breakup, as well as pandemic anxiety as part of his reason for leaving Los Angeles. Star has also been accused of sexual assault and physical violence by his peers, as well as allegations of making racist comments and partaking in bribery.
