Ready to hear lowkey the best news of the day? You have the chance to see the Season 5 premiere episode of Insecure a whole day early.
The exclusive screening goes down on Oct. 23 at Insecure Fest in Los Angeles. Starting at 4 p.m., fans of the beloved HBO series get to celebrate the spirit of Issa Rae’s hit comedy.
“We’re so excited to bring our community together to honor Insecure and send the series off with a celebratory block party for the final time,” said Jackie Gagne, senior vice president of multicultural marketing at HBO Max and HBO. “'Insecure' has been a significant part of our programming for the past six years and Issa’s storytelling has had a profound cultural impact on our audience. Promoting this series has been a joy and privilege, and we look forward to continuing the mission of elevating authentic Black stories in the years to come.”
Hosted by InsecuriTEA podcast hosts Crissle West and Francheska Medina, the event is inspired by Insecure’s themes of music and community. Not only will attendees see the Season 5 premiere a day before everyone else, but they will also get to experience surprise musical performances, a photo installation that pays homage to the series and food options from various Black-owned vendors, including Rae’s Hilltop Coffee + Kitchen- Slauson. A preview of Insecure: The Come Up Game will also be exclusively available. The rap-based mobile game has players navigate the messy business of adulting through the guidance of Issa, Molly, Kelly, Tiffany, Lawrence and Chad.

I'm beyond excited to be in my community, enjoy the music, good vibes and our wonderful supporters for one last time.”
Fans outside of Los Angeles don’t need to fret. Insecure HBO and Scene in Black will provide live coverage on their Instagram Stories, in addition to providing updates leading up to the day of the event.
