Early on, Lady Gaga told us, “There's no other superstar, you know that I'll be.” So could we have expected anything less than a runway-worthy red carpet appearance for her newest movie?
Of course not.
Lady Gaga arrived at the London premiere of House of Gucci ready to put on a show even before the Ridley Scott film began rolling in the theater. Taking cues from her buzzy British Vogue interview and, naturally, her cheeky A Star is Born campaign, Little Monsters were likely prepared for a big fashion moment from Ms. Germanotta, who, of course, delivered.
Evoking royalty, Lady Gaga donned a rich purple gown fit for a veteran of dramatic entrances (Remember the 2018 Venice Film Festival? How about the 2019 Academy Awards?). The ensemble comes right off the Gucci Love Parade runway, making the multi-hyphenate popstar the first person to wear the dress, according to W Magazine.

The look is a proper ode to her role in the highly-anticipated “House of Gucci,” which arrives in theaters on Nov. 24. The star-studded crime drama tells the impossibly scandalous tale of Patrizia Reggiani, played by Lady Gaga, and her plan to assassinate ex-husband Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), the head of the eponymous Italian fashion house. Audiences in for a wild, three-decade ride about love, decadence and revenge.
In the British Vogue story, Lady Gaga spoke at length about her method acting approach to the role. “It was nearly impossible for me to speak in the accent as a blonde,” she told the fashion publication. “I instantly had to dye my hair, and I started to live in a way whereby anything that I looked at, anything that I touched, I started to take notice of where and when I could see money.”
Both wearing Gucci, co-stars Jared Leto looked chic in a velvet teal suit and Salma Hayek in a metallic gold gown. Driver was fittingly dapper in a traditional navy suit, to which he tacked on a red poppy pin on the lapel. A former Marine himself, the flower is an ode to veterans in light of Veterans Day on Thursday.
