Nearly two years after the release of sophomore LP Fine Line, Harry Styles kicked off Love on Tour at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
“Vegas, you blew me away. I’d been waiting for that. Thank you so much for all the love, I had the time of my life with you,” Styles tweeted after the show.
The night began with Fine Line opener “Golden,” which was followed up with 2017’s “Carolina.” Much of the setlist was devoted to his current album, though he included self-titled favorites “Only Angel,” “Woman” and interpolated “Two Ghosts” into “Falling.” Loyal to his hardcore fanbase, Styles also performed One Direction hit “What Makes You Beautiful.” And just like his boy band days, the pop star ran around the stage with various Pride flags and splashing the crowd with water.
The tour opener also marked the continuation of his collaboration with Gucci’s Alessandro Michele. Style graced the MGM stage in a head-to-toe pink ensemble. Donning white patent heeled boots, he exuded ‘70s extravagance in pink flared trousers and a metallic fringe vest to match.
Styles capped the night with a three-song encore, beginning with his first solo single “Sign of the Times.” He finished with radio favorite “Watermelon Sugar” and a rock ‘n’ roll-inspired “Kiwi.”
Love on Tour also features support from Vegas native (and an equally sparkly) Jenny Lewis. She devoted much of her set to her solo discography, such as “Red Bull & Hennessy” and “Just One of the Guys,” but also treated the audience to Rilo Kiley’s “Silver Lining” and three unreleased songs: “Psychos,” “Joy’all” and “Puppy in A Truck.”

The Vegas show marked Styles’ first concert since the beginning of the pandemic. His last major arena performance was for the Dec. 13, 2019 Fine Line release show at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. In front of 17,500 fans, he performed the album in full. The encore notably featured a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” with a guest appearance from Stevie Nicks. Just as he did in Vegas, he closed with a floor-shaking performance of “Kiwi.”
Fine Line peaked at No. 1 just two weeks after its release. It earned a Grammy win for Best Pop Solo Performance for single “Watermelon Sugar” and two nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Music Video for single “Adore You.”
