Inside Harry Styles' Love On Tour L.A. Opener

By: Haley Bosselman By: Haley Bosselman | October 24, 2022 | Culture Lifestyle

Harry Styles

One of the hottest tickets of 2022 has been to Harry Styles’ Love on Tour and the globe-trotting event has finally made its way to Los Angeles with 15 sold-out shows at The Kia Forum. While Styles settles into L.A. until Nov. 15, see what went down at his Oct. 23 opening show.

It’s Harry’s House.

Styles has a significant history with The Forum. Not only has he brought each of his solo tours to the iconic Inglewood venue, but it’s where he celebrated the release of his sophomore album, “Fine Line Live: One Night Only.” To date, the English singer has had 21 sold out shows.

New Outfit

As Gucci’s reigning king (or ambassador, as you would properly say), Styles always shows up in an outfit that, for better or for worse, always gets the people talking. His lineup of Love on Tour looks consistently deliver a little bit of sparkle, so it's no surprise he donned bejeweled white trousers. In a likely intentional nod to Los Angeles, he paired the pants with a pink-lined bomber jacket with sequined palm trees.

What Makes You Beautiful

Since his 2017 solo debut, Styles has racked up a discography that allows plenty of variety between tour setlists. However, he continues time and time again to honor his roots by playing One Direction’s star-making single, “What Makes You Beautiful,” a little over halfway through his set.

Someone tried to leave early.

The L.A. residency opener proved one thing: just because you are surrounded by a massive amount of people, don’t think Styles won’t notice you. Amidst 17,000-plus adoring fans, someone tried to exit before the show ended, but Styles called them out. “We can see you sneaking out, back to the seats! I’m not done,” he laughed.

The Fan-Favorite Unreleased Song

With a fandom as big as Styles’, unreleased songs become favorites among fans, so it’s no surprise the pop star has revived “Medicine.” He first performed the unreleased track back in 2018, which he brought back for a handful of shows last year. Now officially part of the setlist, Styles has sung “Medicine” 21 times and counting in 2022 alone.

A 4-Song Encore

Looking at the final four songs of the night, Styles is clearly a crowd pleaser. (Perhaps that’s why he named his beauty brand Pleasing.) To kick off the encore, Styles returned to the stage to honor the song that officially kicked off his solo career, “Sign of the Times.” He followed it with Medicine and Harry’s House lead single “As It Was” before finally ending the night with traditional set closer “Kiwi,” inspiring the last round of dance-induced hysteria among the crowd.
