First and foremost, Sir Lewis Hamilton is one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers of all time. Following his history-making rookie season in 2007, he has won seven World Drivers' Championship titles so far and earned a reputation as an A-lister even outside the industry.
In particular, Hamilton has established himself as a leading man of fashion. Below, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite looks whether he’s hitting the racetrack, stunning on the red carpet and making moves with his bulldog.
For Hamilton, stepping on to the racetrack is more than just an arrival, it’s a moment. He consistently proves Formula 1 is also a premier backdrop for elite men’s fashion— just take a look at this citrus ensemble. Elevating the mango monochrome look, he layers atop a sherbet jacket, orange sunglasses and green sneakers.
Sitting next to another fashion titan of entertainment, Hamilton elevated the industry’s standard black-on-black getup at the Paris Fashion Week Valentino show in March 2021. Dressed in none other than Valentino, according to Esquire, the F1 champion paired silk pajama pants and shirt with a nylon coat and combat boots.
If you didn’t know Hamilton raced cars for a living, you might after seeing this outfit. Reminiscent of a racing flag, the Brit channeled an all-American style in matching baby-blue and white-checkered jacket and pants with sneakers to match.
“Pure magic,” Hamilton described the 2021 Met Gala on Instagram and we agree. From stylist genius Law Roach, the Mercedes driver used his platform on fashion’s most elite red carpet to spotlight young Black creatives. His lace-featuring ensemble comes from designers Kenneth Nicholson, Theophilio and Jason Rembert.
Also from the mind of Law Roach, Hamilton graced the cover of WSJ Magazine for its Innovator Issue and was honored as 2021’s top innovator in sports. The sparkling beige suit evokes a humble trailblazing spirit, while the sheer tulle top presents the perfect opportunity to reveal Hamilton’s back tattoo and mantra: “Still I Rise.”
Channeling Elle and Bruiser Woods, Hamilton enters the racetrack with beloved English bulldog Roscoe. The pair’s bold energy is further heightened by Hamilton’s hot pink Canadian tuxedo, which stands out against a simple white t-shirt and sneakers.
