The Modern Family star, who can recently be seen in Disney+'s The Santa Clauses alongside Tim Allen, shared his holiday favorites and not-so-favorites with us.
Read our Q&A below.
Favorite holiday tradition?
Christmas, waiting for Santa Claus to come, trying my best to feel like a seven-year-old on Christmas eve.
Favorite holiday recipe?
My grandma's stuffing. We make it around Thanksgiving and Christmas. [We've] made it forever, all my friends make it. It's delicious.
Favorite winter cocktail or beverage?
I like what's called a Santa shake and it's peppermint ice cream, egg nog and a little rum.
Favorite holiday song?
Anything old that makes me feel young again. Burl Ives. Jim Reeves. Gene Autry. All those songs. "Let it Snow" by Dean Martin. All those songs but my absolute favorite song is "Do You Hear What I Hear?" by Bing Crosby.
Favorite holiday movie?
Well it's not a Christmas movie, it's a Thanksgiving movie. Probably Planes, Trains and Automobiles. I think that's a great movie to watch around the holidays.
Early or last-minute shopper?
A little bit of both. I get inspired always so I'm always keeping my eye out for something, but I try to get things handled pretty early.
Best gift you've ever received?
Oh man that is hard. I've been given so many nice, wonderful gifts. But I can't help but just go back to being a kid and how excited I was to get my lego sets ... or my toy, little leather Lone Ranger pistols.
Cozy-winter getaway or warm-weather escape?
Cozy-winter getaway, no doubt. I love a cabin.
On New Year's Eve, stay in or go out?
Stay in. Most overrated Holiday. Terrible holiday. Nothing good happens on New Year's, unless you met your wife or husband that night and then congratulations to you, you're in the minority.
