Tufvesson and Lewis meet every member personally, and focus on high touch service, carefully curating each match for a truly bespoke experience. What's the biggest misconception about matchmaking?
BEVY FOUNDERS: A common misconception in the world of matchmaking is “Why should someone pay a matchmaker? Are they desperate for a date?” When it comes to The Bevy, it is quite the opposite. Our male clients comprise some of the most sought after and eligible bachelors. For our client, the process of vetting and protecting their privacy is the ultimate luxury. Most are weary or disinterested of app or site dating knowing that it’s a lot of work, full exposure, and often a huge waste of time. Our clients are busy, exceptionally particular, and are not afraid to ask for help. If you know your time is valuable, and you can specify your criteria, outsource and take the stress out of dating.
What do you think about when pairing two people up?
BF: We take note of everyone’s fundamentals, non-negotiables and goals. The rest is up to our intuition. We always say it’s one part science, two parts intuition.
How do you think dating in LA varies from other major US cities?
BF: LA might be the most superficial city on the map. Appearances and who you know can often times be the only filter in the dating scene here. But what about depth? It’s easy to date attractive people in LA, but it’s not easy to date people who have it all: ambition, independence, integrity and kindness. We go that extra mile.
What are some of your favorite date spots in Los Angeles?!
BF: A few of our go-to's are Tower Bar, Melrose Umbrella Co, Eveleigh, Zinque, Waldorf rooftop, Makani, Tavern… there are so many great spots.
What are you excited about for summer 2019?
BF: Due to the nature of our jobs, we are social creatures and pride ourselves on travel and trying new things. Traveling and living in different places helps you create more friends and more memories. Time and curiosity start to disappear if you get too comfortable in a routine, so we're excited to explore new places and see new things.
