Whether you’re in the mood for a dark fantasy adventure or quick, light-hearted comedy, the fall TV slate will satisfy your needs all the way through the end of 2022. September sees the return of highly-anticipated new favorites like Abbott Elementary and Ghosts, while October gears up for more episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, Ramy and Nailed It! See below for our full list of the best shows coming this fall.
Aug. 21
The highly anticipated prequel unveils 200 years before the events of the uber-successful Game of Thrones series. Focusing on the story of the House Targaryen, another battle for power over the realm unfolds among the ruling family.
Sept. 1
Long before its premiere, the Prime Video series was already known to be the most expensive show made yet. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings and begins at a time of relative peace. However, a long-feared reemergence of evil threatens Middle-earth.
Sept. 11
Fox’s new multi-generational drama zeroes in on America’s first family of country music. Starring Trace Adkins and Susan Sarandon, the Roman family’s reign as country royalty is put into jeopardy, but heir Nicolette Roman (Anna Friel) will stop at nothing to ensure their legacy and stardom alongside brother Luke (Joshua Sasse) and sister Gigi (Beth Ditto).
Sept. 14
If you are behind on the Hulu dystopian series: caution, spoilers ahead. After killing Commander Waterford, June (Elisabeth Moss) must face the consequences, while a widowed Serena works to raise her social standing. Alongside Luke and Moira, June also fights Gilead from a distance.
Sept. 15
Catch Earn (Donald Glover), Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry), Darius (LaKeith Stanfield) and Van (Zazie Beets) in their final bow. Back in their hometown, everyone must come to terms with one question: has Atlanta changed or have they?
Sept. 19
For season 22, get ready for a judges table of new and familiar stars. Blake Shelton, John Legend, Gwen Stefani and Camila Cabello go head to head to find the next big music superstar.
Sept. 21
Earlier this year, newcomer Abbott Elementary solidified itself as the nation’s most beloved network comedy currently on air. Back for a season 2, the Quinta Brunson mockumentary returns with a plethora of Emmy nominations and more hijinks from Janine (Brunson), Gregory Eddie (Tyler James Williams), Melissa (Lisa Ann Walter), Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph), Jacob (Chris Perfetti), Mr. Johnson (William Stanford Davis) and Ava (Janelle James).
Sept. 29
Another network comedy standout, Ghosts posits Samantha and Jay Arondekar as the inheritors of a sprawling home in the countryside. Sam is intent on transforming the mansion into a beautiful bed and breakfast, but comes to discover the home is overrun with ghosts after she experiences a near-fatal accident. Now with established paranormal relationships and a B&B ready to go, Sam and Jay are ready to take on their roles as hospitality professionals— all the while dealing with the undead.
Sept. 30
From Golden Globe winner Ramy Youseff, the Hulu comedy gained praise for its portrayal of the life of first-generation Egyptian-American Ramy Hassan (Youseff) and his family as they navigate spirituality in their politically-divided New Jersey neighborhood. In season 2, Ramy completely devoted himself to his spiritual journey. Now back for season 3, he abandons it all and instead opts to dedicate himself to his and his uncle’s diamond business. Meanwhile, Ramy’s family must confront having lived a life dedicated to worldly concerns.
Oct. 5
Heading into season 7, the Emmy-nominated show returns for a Halloween celebration with surprises from Netflix-favorite shows like Cobra Kai, The Witcher and Umbrella Academy. Come for Nicole Byer, stay for the scary desserts.
Oct. 6
Season 19 is all about second chances. After the near shuttering of its residency program, Grey Sloan Memorial welcomes a whole new class of interns.
Oct. 7
Making its third and final season debut after airing overseas, Erin Quinn (Saoirse-Monica Jackson) and the gang continue to navigate the hardships of high school. Meanwhile, change may finally be in store for Northern Ireland with hopes that The Troubles are finally over.

More than just a vampire adventure, Showtime’s Let The Right One In is a story of familial bonds and strength. A decade ago, the lives of Mark and his daughter Eleanor were changed forever when she was turned into a vampire. Mark is committed to keeping Eleanor safe, which means providing her human blood and keeping her indoors as much as possible. It stars Demián Bichir, Anika Noni Rose, Grace Gummer, Madison Taylor Baez, Kevin Carroll, Ian Foreman, Jacob Buster and Nick Stahl.
Oct. 11
Supernatural fans rejoice: the prequel is almost here. Starring Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger, The CW dives reveals the untold love story of JohnWinchester and Mary Campbell— parents of Sam and Dean Winchester— and how they saved both their love and the world.
Oct. 21
It’s 1985 and Máximo (Enrique Arrizon) is not only dealing with the upheaval of Las Colinas, but also unexpected problems at home and a possible new love interest, causing conflicting feelings for Julia (Camila Perez). Nevertheless, he has the continued guidance of Don Pablo (Damián Alcázar) and support of BFF Memo (Fernando Carsa). Meanwhile, present-day Máximo (Eugenio Derbez) returns to Acapulco to make peace with the passing of Don Pablo and to confront unfinished business.
Oct. 28
Looking for big laughs? Big Mouth is always the right choice. Season 6 returns after Nick finally squashes his hatred of Jessi (who rejected his confession of love for her), and with anger behind him, Nick, Jessi, Andrew and the rest of the kids at Bridgeton Middle School continue to deal with the emotional turmoil of puberty.
Nov. 13
Rounding out must-see fall TV is cable’s most enduringly popular show. With a two-hour season premiere, Yellowstone promises all will be revealed. We can’t imagine what else could be in store for the rest of a season for the Dutton family with a kick off like that.
