Happy Harryween!
Celebrities may fail sometimes on the red carpet, but Halloween is the one event of the year that our favorite actors and artists alike never disappoint. Whether opting for a sultry costume or an outrageous ensemble, entertainers put their expertise on dressing up to work. Check out the best celebrity costumes of Halloween 2021 below.
Lizzo set the tone of Halloween by showing out early in the weekend as not just the beloved Baby Yoda, but as the memed version of a doll of the Star Wars character in a blonde wig and shades. Committing to the costume by getting into just as many antics as Grogu does, Lizzo’s night included an impromptu, quick pop in at a Spotify event and trekking along Hollywood Boulevard.
Did Lil Nas X unlock a deep memory in the back of your brain from all those hours you spent watching Nickelodeon while growing up? The 22-year-old always known to go all out, and this year he did not disappoint as the dumb, hot jock from Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.
Despite its poor Rotten Tomatoes score, the 2004 star-studded animated comedy Shark Tale is a cornerstone of the Millennial-Zoomer pop culture zeitgeist, and singer Chloe Bailey took note. Glammed up as probably the sexiest fish to ever be drawn, Bailey stuns in shimmering hues of magenta as Lola.
Many try to tackle the iconic look of the Queen of Tejano, but not all nail it. But Ciara did. Adding her own twist while still paying a respectful homage to the late singer, Ciara donned a purple pleather ensemble reminiscent of the infamous jumpsuit Selena Quintanilla wore during her final performance at the Houston Astrodome.
In the middle of tour, Harry Styles once again dubbed the October celebration as “Harryween” and invited fans attending his Madison Square Garden stop to dress up in their Halloween best. He arrived in style too as Dorothy and even treated the audience to a cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

Many Hollywood Halloween costumes are all about the glam, but Steve Buscemi tapped into an even greater vein of internet-era pop culture: the meme. The critically acclaimed actor dressed up as Lenny Wosniak, Jack Donaghy’s private investigator in Season 6 Episode 8 of 30 Rock, to bring to life the storied “Fellow Kids” meme.
Sing to me Paolo! Looks like one of Hollywood’s favorite couples, like so many of us, stanned Hillary Duff as kids. Now with access to the best costumes and makeup around, Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas and Australian actor Olivia DeJonge set the bar for recreating one of the most satisfying burns in Disney Channel history.
For Halloween, Janelle Monae embodied a different kind of holiday demon. With her take on the Grinch, she really gives Jim Carey a run for his money and commits to the prosthetics, makeup and fur for one epic costume.
With Halle Berry’s approval, Saweetie had to be on this list. In distressed leather pants, a zipper-lined bustier and mysterious cat mask, the 28-year-old rapper’s Catwoman costume was top-tier.
Creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky— this time we’re talking about the Legend-Tiegen fam! John and Chrissy rounded up the kids to dress up as the most beloved gothy weirdos in television history complete with a fully incognito Cousin Itt.
Disney’s release of Cruella earlier this year inspired many long before fall was even in sight, and no one did it better than Megan Thee Stallion. For her show in Philadelphia, our Queen Hottie donned a voluptuous bikini-style take of the clever, glamorous 101 Dalmatians villain.
After attempting Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen, the newly-engaged couple kept in the wheelhouse of badass romantic pairs and dressed up as Clarence and Alabama from the Quentin Tarantino-written True Romance.
