Dive into the spirit of summer early with an oceanside, three-day concert right on the shores of Redondo Beach. BeachLife Festival will return to Los Angeles’ South Bay in early May with an impressive lineup of music, art, food and more. Read on for everything you need to know about attending.
BeachLife Festival will take place from May 3 to 5 in Redondo Beach. All-age attendees are welcome and kids ages 6 and under can come in for free with a ticketed adult. A rain-or-shine event, the grounds open at 1 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. You can expect to be heading home by 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 9:30 p.m. on Sunday when the festival closes. Also, leave your cash at home. All vendors accept card or digital payments only.
Although a festival, BeachLife’s bag policy is similar to that of concert venues around town like the Kia Forum. All bags must be clear and not larger than 12”x 6” x 12.” Other permitted bags include a clear, resealable, 1-gallon plastic storage bag, a standard-sized fanny pack and non-clear small clutch bags no larger than 6” x 8.” A case-by-case basis will be considered for families with diaper bags, breastfeeding parents and people with documented medical needs. Also, a locker is highly encouraged if you plan to arrive in the afternoon and stay in the evening. The weather can shift severely from a sunny L.A. afternoon to pretty chilly at night, so it may be the right move to load up on warmer clothes for the evening, but keep it stored away while you enjoy music in the daytime. Be sure to reserve one ahead of time.
On Friday of the first weekend in May, Sting will headline the festival following performances around various stages that day and night by the Dirty Heads, Seal and City and Colour, among others. Then, Saturday will see Devo, Local Natives, Santigold and more perform ahead of Incubus’ closing set. Finally, My Morning Jacket, Trey Anastasio & Classic Tab, Fleet Foxes, ZZ Top, Courtney Barnett, Margo Price, Sugar Ray, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Atlas Genius and others will hit the stage on Sunday.
If you plan to drive, there are a number of city lots around the festival and street parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. However, if you don’t plan to arrive until the late afternoon or evening, you may want to consider pre-purchasing a parking spot for $65 per day at the Portofino Hotel & Marina or Sonesta Redondo Beach & Marina. Alternatively, you can opt for any rideshare service and be dropped off and then picked up at Dive N Surf Shop (504 N Broadway). Alto users should add the code BEACHLIFE24 for a discount. Finally, if you are neighbors of the festival, consider riding your bike, which you can valet at the north or south end of the festival grounds.
Whether you’re looking for vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free or just plain delicious food, you’ll find it at BeachLife. Offerings will include a massive craft beer bar with local breweries, multiple bars, lounges, food trucks and more. Serious foodies will also want to consider the Daou SideStage dining experience, which treats concertgoers to a four-course meal by award-winning chefs while watching their favorite musicians perform.
BeachLife Festival embraces the spirit of the quintessential Southern California day by bringing the community together on the beach and elevating it with a day-to-night arts and culture spectacular. Music is the focus of the weekend, but attendees will be equally delighted by other happenings throughout the festival, such as brand activations, fan engagements, giveaways, photo moments, sustainable initiatives, boutique shopping and games. Be ready for a day of fun, dancing and lasting memories.
BeachLife Festival will be located at 239 N Harbor Dr 90277.
