Cartier announced Lily Collins as the new face for its Clash [Un]limited capsule collection.
“A long-time friend of the Maison, Collins has an undeniable sense of extravagant elegance, perfectly demonstrated with her role in ‘Emily in Paris,’ the company said in a statement, also citing her free-spirited, energetic and unique personality.
The actress explained in an exclusive interview with V Magazine that Cartier has long been part of her jewelry history. She recalled growing up and seeing her mom, actress Jill Tavelman, always wearing Cartier men’s watches. On her 18th birthday, her mom gifted Collins one of her very own.
“For me, being part of the Cartier family means joining a community of free-thinking individuals who demonstrate great strength of character,” Collins said in a statement.
She took to Instagram to further express her enthusiasm. “Beyond thrilled to officially join the @cartier family,” she wrote. “It’s such an honor and dream to be included as the face of their latest collection, Clash [Un]limited. Thank you to the whole team for making my inauguration into this iconic company so beautiful, memorable and seamless. I’ve always respected the Maison’s history and couldn’t be happier to now be part of it. So much more to come!”
Collins revealed on Instagram that being the face of this collection "still feels like a complete dream.”
Cartier’s Clash Unlimited capsule collection will drop next month and is an extension of the Clash de Cartier collection, which released in 2019. A chic twist for rebel girls everywhere, the limited edition line offers black and white pieces with occasional hints of purple, elevated by sharp cuts encrusted with the Clash de Cartier stud.
The campaign takes individuality to new heights with a promo tracked to Billy Idol’s “Dancing with Myself.” Collins stands out in a bold red lip and a silver sequined blazer, with black sequined pants to match. It’s a departure from the elegant promo image that accompanied the initial collection announcement.
In the video, she also dons a silver cuff fully embellished with wrap-around spikes. In another look, she shows off circular-dice like earrings that pop against her signature, high cheekbones.
