On May 16th, Gucci hosted a private event at their Beverly Hills store celebrating the debut of photographer Paige Powell’s eponymous book. Guests including Gus Van Sant and Troye Sivan were offered fuschia cocktails and mini burgers while they explored immersive art exhibits comprised of Powell’s vast archive of photography, including rare and never-before-seen images of iconic New York moments in culture, art and nightlife throughout the 1970s and ’80s. Portraits include Powell’s close friends and creative inspirations such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Madonna, David Bowie and Bill Cunningham. The three-volume set is available for purchase at Gucci Beverly Hills, Gucci Wooster, Gucci Garden in Florence and through the publisher Dashwood Books, and is priced at $295.
